Alex’s Cabin is a beautiful one-bedroom log cabin that was built in the early 1990’s by the Trail Creek Crew. It is set up above the Ranch proper and has views of the historic barn, pond, and the Sleeping Indian in the Gros Ventre Mountain Range and Jackson Peak in the distance.
The living room and full kitchen are part of a great room with a Vermont Castings wood stove. It has a cozy bedroom with a queen bed, a full bath with tub and full-size washer and dryer. The sitting porch overlooking the ranch is the best spot in the Valley to relax and unwind and cook dinner on the Weber gas grill.
Alex’s Cabin is extremely private with incredible views. A perfect honeymoon (or second or third honeymoon!) cabin.
The cabin in the winter is truly special. You either snowshoe after a storm or walk up the snowy path to get to the cabin and then you are surrounded by pristine stillness and beauty. You can snowshoe or cross country ski right out your door on a 13K private cross country ski track or make your own tracks on all of the wide open space.
For downhill skiing it's only 12-15 minutes to Jackson Hole Ski Resort, or our town hill, Snow King. Grand Targhee is 50 minutes away.
The Teton Pass area behind the Ranch is a stellar backcountry ski playground, and Trail Creek Ranch is the only property you can ski right to.
As an added bonus, there are many Moose visitors all winter long. We also can take you along when we feed our resident herd of horses.
"My wife and I spent a week in February in Alex's Cabin at the Trail Creek Ranch. The cabin is very comfortable with a full kitchen and bathroom, bedroom and living/dining area which looks out over the magnificent ranch property with mountains and moose in view. The ranch is a short drive to the towns of Wilson and Jackson where there are numerous shopping and dining options. Alex, Jules and Mike provided exceptional hospitality with recommendations for activities and dining as well as the opportunity to share in feeding the animals. There are a number of other suites and cabins on the property but the size of the ranch makes you feel like you have the beautiful property to yourself. The ranch receives significantly more snow than the nearby towns though the roads in and out are well maintained in the midst of the winter wonderland. A stay here is a unique lodging exerience without compromise and we will be back for a fall visit!"
