Fifteen minutes away is Teton Village, home of the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, where the aerial tram runs seven days a week. A great place to start a hike, find some summer snow or enjoy the high altitude and late summer wildflowers. The Grand Teton Music Festival and Chamber Music during the week, with the Symphony playing on Friday and Saturday nights.
Yellowstone National Park is well worth a day trip. The lower loop is a full day excursion and an early morning departure lends to the best possible chance to see wildlife and beat the crowds.
There are also Guided Tours that you can hire to take you through both Grand Teton and Yellowstone Parks. Wildlife Expeditions has wonderful programs and will load you with information about this area.
